Money Money Money

There seems to be a lot of talk at the moment about money. We are told that the economic situation is very bad for people living in the West, loss of jobs and houses, and people not being able to buy clothes that they don’t actually need. While the rich countries own most of the wealth our poorer neighbours continue to suffer even more, not forgetting that a billion people never get a clean glass of water.

Recently at a trip to Poland for The Reiki Alliance Conference the element of money was one of the topics discussed. How much should we charge for teaching 1st and 2nd degree Reiki? Should we change what was originally set? As we are all individuals it was no surprise that there was a range of ideas, some wanted to charge more than others. Did it mean changing the system? Lots of different viewpoints. I thought of something Paul Mitchell had said earlier “Let Reiki teach you” and “What is Reiki teaching me/us”.

Interesting and thought provoking.

On the last evening of the Conference I was preparing to pack my suitcase and to my find my UK sterling money, ready for the journey. It wasn’t where I thought it was, I looked everywhere, the bedside table, my empty suitcase, under the bed and also asked my room mate. We started to try to recall when I had last used it, which was to change some Polish zloty for sterling with her. I just couldn’t recall what had exactly occurred. It made me feel very uneasy and reminded me of a story that Phyllis had told at the Conference, about travelling with no money and how upset she had been due to certain circumstances. Then someone had come along to help and everything was OK and to trust in Reiki.

I am an aquarian and need to be organised, as sometimes I can be in a dream, so I just couldn’t believe that I had lost it. As I lay in bed I thought that maybe I had put it in the bin by mistake while tidying up, but the bins had been emptied so I couldn’t check. I had only told my room mate at that point as I knew that none of the Polish staff would have taken it as they were just beautiful. I had a very restless night, I sent Reiki but didn’t get any answers that I understood.

The next day I decided I had just lost it and to accept it. I travelled into Krakow with another Reiki Master, as our flight was later in the day. I told her about the money and she said that it would turn up at home. She told me a couple of stories about things disappearing and then reappearing, I was sceptical. When I returned home I told my husband that I had lost some money and he jumped to the conclusion that somebody must have taken it, I knew this to be untrue and was convinced I had lost it.

As I was unpacking I had nearly emptied my case when there it was in the front compartment. I can tell you for sure it wasn’t there in Poland. It must have been in another dimension and had arrived back home! I couldn’t believe it. I immediately phoned with the news, neither people were surprised. I thought “ what is Reiki teaching me”.                                               A lesson about money? To trust in Reiki?

Interesting and thought provoking.
